The Artificial Sphere. (horizon- zodiac- poles- zenith & nadar).

Issued c.1790’s, America by Amos Doolittle. Imprint at bottom right of print.

Charming and very nice visual example of this scarce 18th century engraved print with beautiful hand color.

There are at least 2 different versions of this 18th century engraved image which display very noticeable differences within the Copernican System. This version has a sun burst pattern and many lines radiating outward as well as a notation about how the comet of 1661 appeared again in 1790, with what seems to be a math error of 1790 years later.

Remains a nice looking example with a pleasing age patina.

Any small age flaws are minor and easy to overlook or forgive.
