760 pages, six consecutive months. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout with endless wood engravings, many full page (often views of locations). Five (scarce) supplemental color lithographs still present as bound in long ago.

A scarce work, Leslie's of this era are today uncommon/ score.

Period 1/2 leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands & title lettering.

Book is over 140 years old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, joints slightly scuffed with short splitting at joint ends (covers still firmly attached), remains overall sound and attractive as an object.

Text block paper is gently toned, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
