28 pages. Text in English. 93 full page wood engraved plates, many similar era wood engravings tipped in long ago to facing pages, at rear is 1848 "History and Art of Wood Engravings" by William A. Chatto. (28 pp.).

Period 1/2 leather binding, slightly raised bands, gilt title lettering & compartment decorations.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, joints well scuffed with some short splitting at ends although covers remain strongly and firmly attached, overall still attractive as an object.

Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
