Fine 16th century wood cut city view print from the famous monumental work Cosmography. Provides a fascinating glimpse into Europe during the Early Modern period.

Almost primitive in appearance, the method of engraving on wood creates a charming folk-art look. Initialed by engraver RVD at lower right.

Nice looking example, paper age toned and slightly browned as often seen, pleasing age patina, any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. Text as always on reverse.
