164 pages. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout with 63 excellent full page steel engraved views, all printed on heavy paper with tissue guards. 

Attractive antiquarian full leather binding, raised bands, gilt title lettering, gilt ruled compartments & covers, marbled end papers, all edges gilt.

A monumental work with splendid plates, all engraved to the highest technical level, well printed with nuanced range of darks and lights, all signed in the plates by various engravers.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. 

Binding age worn but still appealing, leather and joints rubbed and scuffed but still supple, front joint weakened with small scuff hole hear bottom band, front cover is slightly loosened, remains overall very attractive as an object.

Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
