The East Village Other- Woodstock. August 13, 1969.

Original Underground newspaper with a fantastic cartoon map showing how to get to this iconic music festival in New York. Images on it includes nudes and a farmer smoking (cannabis?).

Great interior articles, ads and images from iconic artists and contributors including Robert Crumb, Kim Deitch, etc. Text and ads for Fillmore East, Easy Rider movie, centerfold images of musicians performing at the Woodstock festival, peace marches, mushrooms, Dr. John playing music, etc.

Newspaper is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time, originally issued folded in half as found here. 

Binding gently age worn, issued and stored folded so some splitting and discoloration at fold lines ends (now neatly backed with archival tape, top edge corner well chipped with loss of blank margin, some chipping to the cover edges (couple spots of edge loss to rear cover), text block detached and loose from covers as issued, mostly light or inoffensive signs of handling and time but nothing severe or unsightly, book remains overall attractive as an object.

Still attractive and completely worthy of display. Uncommon and desirable in any condition.

Newspaper displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive.

The asking price reflects the condition based on our examination and 40+ years full time exposure to antiquarian books, maps and printed ephemera of all types and genres. Flaws seen and/ or described have been taken into account.
