Issued 1750 (1783 version here), Paris by Robert de Vaugondy.

Mid (to late) 18th century engraved map with attractive hand color.

This rare late appearance issued c.1783, Lyon.

Likely using an earlier, original 1750 era engraved plate although a close comparison could reveal differences or possibly entirely different plates (meaning this was a later pirated (unauthorized) re-issue version).

Remains clean, a nice looking example with a pleasing age patina. Any age flaws mostly minor and easy to overlook or forgive.

Original fold lines as issued.

left blank margin narrow and extended with old paper, small old paper repair on reverse near top of center fold near neat above Nova Zembla.

Sheet Measures c. 7 1/4" H x 7" W.

Engraved Area Measures c. 5 7/8" H x 6 1/8" W.
