Marchande de Violettes Female Flower Merchant 1850 color lithograph print
Brian DiMambroMarchandes de Violettes.
(Old Prints, 19th Century Prints, Violet Seller, Beautiful Woman, Exquisite Blue Flowers, Lovely Carved Street Lamp, Street Vendor) .
Issued c. 1845-55, Paris & London, by F. Sinnett. Lithographed by Joseph Felon.
Interesting and uncommon original antique color lithograph print.
Print remains overall clean & sound, once creased horizontally across the sheet (just under the basket) and now backed with strip of old paper to help it lie flat (the crease is visible but not offensive visually), light signs of age typical to all old sheets of printed paper, blank margins slightly soiled and spotted. The photographs provided should capture the appearance better than words.
Old prints often display small minor repairs on the back, could have uneven blank margins, might have extraneous fold-lines or other small minor age flaws which do not detract from the visual appeal or value. Condition is carefully considered in arriving at our price.
Great old print entirely worthy of hanging for display.
A visual depiction captured in a manner entirely unique to this era.
Sheet measures c. 16 1/8" H x 12 1/4" W.
Printed area measures c. 10 1/2" H x 7 7/8" W.
