Period full leather binding, slightly raised bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting red leather labels.

Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.

Bindings gently rubbed and age worn, old scuffing, small hole to leather on rear cover, leather remains supple, covers firmly attached, a lovely set.

Text block paper is clean, vol. 1 opens to title page, vol. 2 lacks rear blank end paper, internally well preserved, little staining or soiling, some old corner creases to pages, any flaws of a minor type unworthy of specific mention.

Still handsome on the shelf. Set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
