(Old Magazines, Early 20th Century Magazines, Rogers Peet Company, Ropeco Magazine, Boys' Magazines, Illustrated Magazines).

Ropeco Magazine.
Published monthly, New York by Rogers Peet Company.
3 issues, each c. 40 pages. Text in English. Illustrated throughout. Nice assortment of dated advertising as well, often illustrated.

Nice lot of 3 early 20th century American boys' magazines with pleasing visual content. Issues included in this lot: February, September, & October 1931.

Three very attractive art deco style illustration covers by Pates Gilbert. Rare juvenile periodicals issued by this merchant who appears to have specialized in clothing and shoes for children.

Bindings show signs of handling and time but are still attractive overall, nothing offensive or major.

Small age flaws or defects include possible random old creasing, edge chipping, small light old staining, etc. Overall entirely acceptable examples of what are certainly scarce survivals. The pictures give a very good sense of how the item survives. We have not gone through each issue page by page, time simply forbids it and the price reflects the possibility of their being typical small flaws unknowable on old periodicals handled in large lots and offered in groups.

Virtually all periodicals of this era are somewhat scarce today as loose complete issues. Like most random survivals of old periodical printing, any specific example (like this one) is likely among a relative handful still extant. As each decade goes back from 1950, the rate of scarcity for any specific magazine or paper item increases noticeably.

Text block of each remains overall clean, and displays a pleasing age patina.

Lot remains attractive on the shelf, the various small age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this lot survives. The items are not new-they're been browsed and handled by different owners in the past.
