Map remains fresh and clean, likely rarely unfolded since 1867.

Publisher's pictorial cloth binding, gilt title lettering, embossed cover decorations include allegorical figures standing amongst floral decorations, all edges gilt. 

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time, couple small stains, some light rubbing, small chipping or splitting to spine ends. Book is not new or in "new" condition but is well preserved.. 

Map paper is toned and wrinkled, but still overall quite ok, some wear, edge splits and small defects to binding and cloth. overall pretty nice really.

Text paper is gently toned, various small signs of use and time, still clean, tight, sound internally.

Still attractive on the shelf. The book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive.
