Period acid-washed mottled calf, spine gilt lettered and stamped (now well rubbed), a.e.g..

Joints cracked, boards strongly attached by binding cords, handsome 18th century binding.

Volume 5 only (of 8), complete unto itself as a suite of 107 copper engraved plates with explanatory text, many depicting mythological themes and some with nude gods and goddesses as was custom at the time.

Clean, tight, fresh set internally, plates retaining original tissue guards. Small scattered spotting or toning, overall all plates remain quite clean.
