Los Angeles- The Most Delightful Summer Resort in America- 1915. Compliments of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.

Scarce early 20th century promotional brochure. "Buy your railroad tickets to the 1915 California Expositions via Los Angeles, The Main Gateway" printed inside. Total of seven printed images- one captures an early open air tourist passenger car with three rows of seats. Other images include the Palisades, fishing and the Mt. Lowe Incline funicular railway.

Overall clean and fresh example. Likely tucked into something 100 years ago and is just re-surfacing recently in this quite clean condition. A few small scattered age spots, slight light rubbing, but pretty close to looking as when printed. Top right corner of corner does have a small rectangular spot of paper loss. This is almost certainly due to someone removing a sticky label someone had adhered to the front of the brochure long ago.

Must be scarce in any condition, the sort of ephemeral paper item which is typically saved only by chance, much like today. Think about all the geographical promotional printed material you discard from say your vacations, daily commutes and travelings around, etc. that everyone else discards after time as well. Add 100 years to that process and then back when it never occurred to most people that someone might want the item ever again some day down the road.

Measures c. 8.5" H x 4" W when folded closed as issued. When opened the four panel sheet c. 16" W.
