Yale 1902 Photographic Class Yearbook Student Portraits Campus Scenes huge BookBrian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints
(Old Books, Early 20th Century Books, New England, Connecticut, New Haven, Yale, Yearbook, Student Portraits, Campus Scenes).
Published 1902, at 935 Broadway, New York by Pach Brothers. Full of original photos- large thick heavy monumental volume.
42 pages plus four large loose, separately issued class photos. Text in English. Profusely illustrated with original photographs of hundreds of student & faculty portraits, sports teams, group pictures and assorted campus scenes. With the bookplate of H.E. Morris. Every single individual photo has a (original?) hand written name signature below it.
Antiquarian 1/4 leather binding, heavy card stock pages with mounted photos on each, oblong format, gilt title lettering, original owner (Herbert E. Morris) in gilt on cover (his pic is in the photos). Complete loss of spine leather.
Book is physically old and shows some clear signs of handling and time. Spine leather lacking, covers detached, leather dried and chipped where it remains, contents tight and sound (and clean).
Binding well age worn but still appealing, leather and joints rubbed, spine leather lost, remains overall very attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.
Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detailed attempt to present this book as it survives.
We often over-describe any flaws that many sellers would not even bother to mention since most people would overlook them as minor and unworthy of comment. Many people tell us the books they receive from us are nicer in person than they appears on the screen. We want you to be clear about what you are buying, so we take numerous photos and try to describe it openly and honestly.
Book Measures c. 10 1/4" H x 13 1/2" W.
