Published 1789, Glasgow, Scotland by J. & M. Robertson.
288 pages. Text in English.
Apparently a very scarce/ rare 18th century Scottish imprint.
Period full leather binding, raised bands.
Book is 130+ years old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition.
Leather is scuffed age dried and worn along the edges. Front cover is detached, lacks 1 page within (p. 145). Overall book is gently age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, remains overall attractive as an 18th century hand made object. Rare in any condition.
Text block paper is typically age toned, light to moderate scattered old staining or small age spotting, internally still well preserved. Signatures all tightly sewn as bound, book remains square and solid as a textblock.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this rare antique 18th century Scottish book survives.
