Period 1/2 leather binding, raised & gilt bands, gilt compartment decorations & title lettering, marbled end papers.
Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Set is not new or in "new" condition.
A heavy monumental set with endless interesting topographical and ethnic visual images.
Bindings well preserved and handsome, lightly rubbed and age worn, small chipping at spine heads of some vols, minor small scuffing or flaws to leather which are easy to overlook, cloth spotted, corner tips a bit worn, set remains very handsome with nice shelf appearance.
Text block papers clean, internally well preserved, tight, sound, fresh, any flaws of a minor type unworthy of specific mention.
Still attractive on the shelf. Set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
