In a unique American full leather book binding of the era.
Full decoratively embossed calf, covers with large ovals containing a sunburst pattern, surrounded by grape clusters, vegetation devices in the four corners. Smooth spine gilt ruled into compartments with devices and title, Engraved portrait frontis.
Binding remains sound and tight, joints scuffed and worn but still holding well. Extremities of binding scuffed or sunned. Spine gilt remains bright, cover decorations entirely visible, pleasing age patina overall to the book as an object.
Book measures: 7 5/8" H X 4 3/4" W.
