(Old Magazines, 20th Century Magazines, Americana, Fashion, Fabric Industry, Trade Magazines, Illustrated Magazines).

American Fabrics Magazine.
Published quarterly, 1948-50, New York, by Reporter Publications Inc.
3 issues, each c. 100 pages. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout. Great assortment of dated advertising as well, often illustrated. Inserts present.

Nice magazine with pleasing visual content, endless actual fabric samples tipped in throughout, likely many dozens. Wonderful colorful covers, numerous striking full page ads with great visual style, etc. Issues include 1948, Fall 1949, and Winter 1949-50.

A luxuriously produced oversized trade journal which was very expensive in its day, large heavy production.

Note- The Fall 1949 issue displays clear visible signs of old damp staining to first 1/2 of the periodical.

Bindings remain clean, tight, and sound, various mostly small signs of age, time and handling, nothing offensive or major. Each remains a nice looking example.

Small age flaws or defects include possible random old creasing, edge chipping, small light old staining, some old small spot page adhesions, etc. The pictures give a very good sense of how the items survive.

Virtually all periodicals of this era are somewhat scarce today as loose complete issues. Like most random survivals of old trade magazine printing, any specific example (like this one) is likely among a relative handful still extant.

Text block remains overall clean, and displays a pleasing age patina.

Magazines remain attractive on the shelf. Set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique set survives. This set is not new- it is old and has been handled by different owners in the past.

Magazines Measure c. 14 1/2" H x 11" W.
