Plates include a splendid allegorical title page, a fine miniature oblong panoramic Ij river birds-eye view, a detailed city plan, and 25 excellent views around the city, most depicting pedestrians, canals, windmills, and early important buildings, some of which are now gone, others which still exist.

A comprehensive overview and profusely illustrated guidebook to the city of Amsterdam published early in the 18th century.

Complete with all 28 plates [based on Dapper] as called for, a beautiful clean example, with entirely untrimmed original wide deckle edges as issued. Splendidly fresh internally, virtually all of the engraved plates nice impressions and well engraved.

Insignificant old staining at very bottom edge of some leaves, always well outside any printed area. Recent excellent sympathetic full leather binding which nicely imitates a correct binding style of the era.

Tight, sound example. Rare thus.
