Glimpses of the World: A Portfolio of Photographs of the Marvelous Works of God and Man, by John L. Stoddard.
Published 1903, New York by the Saalfield Publishing Company.
549 pages. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout with hundreds of B&W photographs.

Monumental early 20th century coffee table style photographic world view book, a curated selection of what the author deemed to be note worthy sights and scenery.

Publisher's oblong folio cloth binding, gilt title lettering on front cover set within embossed rules.

Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.

Binding gently age worn but still mostly clean, cloth slightly frayed along some edges or corners, light surface soiling (minimal and not offensive in any way), gilt remains bright, overall attractive as a 120 year old book.

Text block paper is clean, internally well preserved, endpaper and frontis slightly misfolded as often seen on oblong format books of this era, still fresh looking images, minimal to almost no noticeable staining or soiling, any flaws of a minor type unworthy of specific mention.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique item survives.

Book Measures c. 11" H x 14" W.

A large and surprisingly heavy book, printed on quality coated paper stock.
