Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering & pictorial spine decorations, embossed ruled covers. 6 month run from November 1857-May 1858.
Early owner's inscription: Adelaide B. Stanton, June 1st 1858. Owner has neatly inscribed the author's name throughout book at the top of many articles.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding gently age worn, signs of handling but nothing offensive or severe, remains overall attractive as an object. A nice looking decorative book with a gilt head of what appears to be Shakespeare.
Paper is gently toned, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
