Book is inscribed by W. Murray Crane, a former Governor of Massachusetts who secured a contract for his family paper company an exclusive contract for supplying the U.S. Government with currency paper.
1/4 cloth binding, gilt title lettering, paper covered boards, deckled edges. Limited edition, print run of 1,000.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition. Former owners name stamp on verso of title page and bottom edge of text block.
Binding gently age worn, mostly light signs of handling and time but nothing offensive or severe, book remains overall quite clean, fresh, attractive as an object.
Paper is gently toned, internally still clean, tight, sound internally.
Still attractive on the shelf. The book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present seem easy to overlook or forgive.
