Six volumes, each c. 450 pages. Text in English. Frontis engravings and plates protected by original tissue guards. With the fine custom library bookplate of Veryl Preston.
Beautiful period 1/2 grained morocco leather binding, raised and gilt bands, compartments richly decorated in gilt, title and author in gilt. Cloth covers. Marbled end papers. Edges slightly deckled. One volume has a tiny chip at the spine base, so small it is easy to miss and almost invisible to the eye when the books are on a shelf. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.
Binding remains clean, tight, and sound. Interior contents clean and bright. Beautiful antiquarian books that retains a lovely shelf appearance.
