450 pages plus index. Text in English. Well illustrated throughout with three large folding maps, two folding tables and dozens of b&w photographs, some of which are full page. Nice pictorial advertising section at rear.

Antiquarian 1/2 leather binding, slightly raised bands & gilt bands, cloth covers, marbled end papers. Maps all printed on bond paper and remain clean/ fresh.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Early owners name and gift inscription to title page,

Binding age worn but still appealing, leather dried, scuffed & chipped, joints broken, covers still well attached, book remains overall attractive as a 19th century object.

Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
