Run of 10 consecutive loose parts (fasicules). Each volume contains c. 8 full page b&w portraits w/ accompanying biographic information. Appears to represent a complete series, total of 80 portraits.
Lot of 10 "periodicals" or parts from the late 19th century issued to correspond to the World Fair. Illustrated paper wrappers. A collected series of portraits of "exotic" ethnic types from around the world.
Paper wrappers detached, cover paper is fragile and edge chipped, covers present for all issues, one issue lacks rear cover. Text block remains sound, requires careful handling.
Text block remains overall clean, and displays a pleasing age patina.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
