Child Life: The Children's Own Magazine.
Published monthly, 1935 Chicago by Rand McNally Co.
4 issues, each c. 50 pages. Text in English. Profusely illustrated throughout. Nice assortment of dated advertising as well, often illustrated.

Fun lot of five early 20th century American children's magazine with pleasing visual content including puzzles, short stories, ads, cartoon style art, etc. Issues included in this lot: February; May; November; & December, 1935. Each cover strikes us as worthy of framing for display.

Bindings remains clean, tight, and sound, various mostly small signs of age, time and handling, some wear along the spines, a few scattered short edge splits, nothing offensive or major. Each remains overall a nice looking example.

Small age flaws or defects include possible cut-outs form a couple pages we missed seeing as we thumbed through, small random old creasing, edge chipping, small light old staining, etc. Overall given their scarcity, each remains entirely acceptable examples of what are scarce children's periodicals. The pictures give a very good sense of how the items survive.

Virtually all publications aimed at children from this era are somewhat scarce today. Like most random survivals of old periodical printing, any specific example (like these) is likely among a relative handful still extant. As each decade goes back from 1950, the rate of scarcity for any specific magazine or paper item increases noticeably.

Text blocks remain overall clean, and displays a pleasing age patina.

Magazines remain attractive on the shelf. Lot displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this vintage lot survives. This lot is not new- it is old and has been handled by different owners in the past.
