The Christian Parlor Book, by J.T. Headley.
Published 1855, New York by Edward H. Fletcher.
408 [410] pages. Text in English. Engraved sepia frontis protected by original tissue guard. Illustrated with 22 full page steel or wood engraved plates plus numerous pages of music.

Publisher's cloth binding, elaborate gilt spine decorations, embossed covers with publishers seal showing a row of books with name in a long banner.

Binding remains uncommonly clean, tight, and sound. A fresh survival, only minor spots of light or small soiling. Interior sound, tight and square, displaying a pleasing age patina, with light to moderate age spotting [mostly confined to steel engraved plates (due to types of paper used for them)].

Book remains very well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique item survives. Any book of this era in this fine fresh condition is uncommon thus.

Book Measures c. 9 1/2" H x 6 1/2" W.
