1886, London, Smith, Elder, & Co. pp. 217. Well Illustrated by Thackeray & R. Doyle.

Period full leather. Spine richly gilt decorated with contrasting gilt title label, raised bands, floral devices. Covers gilt patterned in outline with blind stamped ornate rules and corner devices, turn-ins embossed in pattern, marbled end papers, all edges marbled. Dozens of full page line drawing (line cut?) plates throughout.

Old damp staining to lower portion of leather covers and some of the text block, however this is not offensive nor severe and is easy to overlook or forgive. 

Book remains well preserved and very attractive on the shelf. It displays a beautiful age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition.
