Publisher's elaborate gift cloth binding, gilt title lettering &ornate framework cover designs, embossed scroll and floral decorations.
Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. However, this example is particularly fresh in appearance and much brighter than the majority of cloth bound books of this era which survive on the market today.
Binding gently rubbed and age worn, joints slightly scuffed, tiny holes to cloth in spots, minor tiny stains. Overall clean, fresh in appearance, gilt remains bright, nicer than typical and quite attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound. Nice old book.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
