A very interesting book on this subject around the world through history, including ancient Greek, Roman, Jews, Olympic Games, Indian Games, Gladiatorial Games, festivals in different states, Southern, Middle states, Holyday Notices, Field Sports, Hawking, baiting of animals, cock-fighting, Card playing, Archery, Bull-fights, Dancing, Baiting of Animals, jugglers, minstrels, bar-b-que, etc.
Period paper covered boards. Binding remains clean, tight, and sound, some splitting along lower front and rear joint which doesn't affect the integrity of the binding. Interior sound & tight, well spotting throughout. Untrimmed deckled edges as issued.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
