Manuel de L'Amateur de Reliures Armoriees Francaises, by Eugene Olivier.
Published 1925-34, Paris by Bosse.
30 volumes [29 orig. fascicules, one hardbound number].
A rare complete run of this essential and monumental bibliographic reference, with 2,685 plates showing specific individual book binding cover gilt stamps which identify the owner of the binding design. Published over a period of years, making complete sets uncommon.
Publisher's card stock paper wrappers, each fascicule with flap which open to contain the stack of loose pictorial text sheets as issued.
Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Set is not new or in "new" condition.
Bindings gently age worn, various spines with tears, paper flaws, set remains overall attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently toned, but internally paper and sheets remain clean, fresh, well preserved, complete.
Still attractive on the shelf. Set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this monumental reference set survives. Still useful today.
Books Measure c. 11 3/4" H x 8 3/4" W.
A very large heavy set, will likely require 2 heavy boxes for mailing it.
