840 pages. Text in French. With five folding maps, including a map of the world in double hemispheres.

Period full leather binding, raised bands, gilt compartment decorations and title lettering, marbled end papers.

Binding remains clean, tight, and sound, leather is supple, corners worn. Joints cracked at top or scuffed, but covers strongly and firmly attached.

Interior contents display a pleasing age patina, largely free of age spotting. Any age flaws are easy to overlook or forgive.

A lovely book, certainly uncommon.
