10 volumes, each c. 500 pages. Text in English. Frontis portrait in each volume protected by original tissue guard.

Stamped bindings by Estes & Lauriat of Boston.

Attractive antiquarian 1/2 leather bindings, raised & gilt bands, gilt title lettering, marbled covers & end papers, top edges gilt, deckled edges, b&w plates throughout. Floral devices within each compartment, raised bands gilt ruled.

Lot of ten (of unknown total) is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Very attractive run of bindings on the shelf.

Bindings gently age worn but still appealing, leather and joints slightly rubbed but still supple, lot remains overall very attractive as an object.

Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally lot remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A lot which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.

Still attractive on the shelf. Lot displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
