Period publisher's cloth binding, elaborate gilt spine decorations, embossed and gilt cover decorations. Gilt still bright and pleasing. Binding remains clean, tight, and sound. Interior contents clean with some light scattered spotting.
Wonderful assortment of small wood engravings throughout. Great range of contents, including riddles, games, exercises, moral stories, hints on keeping animals, etc.
Nice mid-19th century re-issue of this classic early girls book.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
