(Old Books, 19th Century Books, Leather Book Bindings, Text Books, Greek Language, Greek Grammar).
A Grammar of the Greek Language: Originally Composed for the College-School at Gloucester.
2nd American edition published 1805, Boston by J.T. Buckingham. Second American Edition.
223 pages. Text in English & Greek.
Period full leather binding, smooth spine, gilt band, paper title label. Scarce early American school book for the study of this language.
Item is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.
Binding age worn, early spine title label well worn and chipped, joints cracked although covers still firmly attached, spine ends chipped, leather scuffed and rubbed but remains supple; overall still attractive as an antique object.
Text block paper displays typical normal toning, title page edge stained (a direct offset from the leather used in the binding front cover) light minor scattered spotting, any flaws of a minor type unworthy of specific mention. Fresh unsophisticated example with nice age patina.
Still attractive on the shelf. Item in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this antique item survives.
