2 volumes, each c. 500 pages. Text in French. Frontis portrait in volume 1 protected by original tissue guard.

Attractive antiquarian 1/4 leather bindings, raised & gilt bands, marbled covers.

Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Set is not new or in "new" condition.

Bindings age worn, small chipping at head of spine, edges worn, mostly light minor signs of careful handling and time but nothing offensive or severe, set remains overall attractive on the shelf.

Paper is gently toned, light old damp staining to text block of vol. 1, still clean, tight, sound internally.

The set displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in overall nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws which may be present appear to us easy to overlook or forgive.
