228 pages. Text in English. Frontis portrait. Period advertising throughout. A fascinating example of a publisher using a history book to sell advertising space.
Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering, embosses (stamped in blind) and gilt cover decorations. Binding remains tight and sound, some old marks at top of front cover, otherwise lovely clean shape. Interior contents display a pleasing age patina, largely free of age spotting.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
