Period full mottled calf, smooth spine gilt ruled into compartments with contrasting red morocco title label. Three engraved maps with decorative title cartouches.

Among the earliest maps produced within the young Republic, two are by J. Allen, one by Amos Doolittle.

Second volume of a 2 vol set, the first book was devoted to Americas, this present volume is devoted to the rest of the world, including Asia, Africa and Europe.

Complete, maps loose, text block still well sewn and tight as issued. Paper toned and lightly spotted as typical for American books of this era.
