Publisher's beautiful gilt cloth gift binding, elaborate gilt spine and cover floral decorations, all edges gilt.
Binding remains uncommonly clean, tight, and sound. Small edge chips to cloth which are easy to overlook, trivial tiny flaws to spine ends cloth, a fresh example, much nicer condition than most cloth books of this mid-19th century era. Textblock remainsclean, square and tight.
Interior contents display a pleasing age patina, with light to moderate age spotting throughout (never offensive), as typical mostly to engraved plates (due to paper used).
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
