Brian DiMambro(Old Books, Early 20th Century Books, Travel, Tourism, Egypt, Luxor, Nile River, Answar Dam, Illustrated Books).
Souvenir of Luxor.
Published c. 1905, Luxor, Egypt by A. Gaddis & G. Seif.
c. 98 pages (being 48 color views printed on one side only plus a color title leaf). Text in English. Illustrated throughout.
Attractive publisher's cloth binding, pictorial cover paste down set within gilt frame and title lettering, oblong format. Slight inoffensive upward bow to the book (easily flattened if desired with time by pressing under a stack of books).
Uncommon location for a view book at this time, this being a deluxe souvenir given the level of color.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time.
Binding gently age worn but still appealing, covers slightly scuffed and rubbed, slight bow to book, internal front hinge repaired in past with clear tape, remains overall attractive as a physical object of this era.
Text block paper is age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but does not look like a new book. This is an antique old book which has been handled over the past many decades.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for our detailed attempt to present this book as it actually survives. There is no attempt to hide anything but it's virtually impossible to list every single last tiny flaw or minor (normal) age defect which may exist
We often over-describe relatively normal or minor flaws that many sellers would not even bother to mention since most people would overlook them as unworthy of comment. Many people tell us the books they receive from us are nicer in person than they appears on the screen. We want you to be clear about what you are buying, so we take numerous photos and try to describe it openly and honestly. We accept returns, so we're on your side in any transaction. Thank you for being reasonable, if you have any doubts about condition or have very high expectations/ needs for super-fine, we advise you to not purchase the item so as to avoid disappointment.
