Period publisher's cloth binding, elaborate gilt spine decorations, embossed cover designs. Binding remains clean, tight, and sound.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Author was a British army deserter who escaped to Landaff, NH. He had enlisted into the British Army but escaped from his regiment, was captured, imprisoned, tried and condemned to death but escaped from captivity and settled in the U.S. Tells about his experiences and suffering.
