Description coming soon.
A Collection of Hymns. by John Wesley.
Issued 1831, NY by Emory & Waugh.
Full leather, well decorated in gilt, leather supple, binding sound. t.e.g.
Charming near miniature format tiny book, small pocket size meant to be readily carried in a pocket to church.
Sure enough, binding shows signs of the type of scuffing and small surface defects consistent with having been kept in a coat pocket with other small sharp objects such perhaps as tiny screws, etc.
Book remains quite pleasing as an object, various signs of age and handling, boards slightly bowed from thick text block which has clearly been read and handled often over the years.
Lacks front free endpaper, rear endpapers present. Front hinge repaired in past, light spotting and light old edge damp staining to some leaves.
Still sound, remains a leasing little book.
Measures c. 3 1/8" H x 2" W x 1 1/4" thick.
