Early book seller & bindery tag of Case, Lockwood & Brainerd, Hartford, CT., making this a rare and unique set.
1/2 leather binding, slightly raised & gilt bands, gilt title lettering, top edge gilt, nicely printed floral endpapers.
Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.
Bindings gently age worn and rubbed but still supple, small nick scuffing to board tips, remains overall clean and handsome attractive as a 19th century set.
Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
