Brian DiMambro- Antiquarian Books, Maps & Prints

(Engraved plate books of early 19th century, Fine French leather bindings, rare books).
Annales du Musee et de L'Ecole Moderne des Beaux-Arts.
Published 1815, Paris & London by Bosange & Masson.
75 pages. Text in French. Profusely illustrated throughout with 72 (!) engraved plates (etchings), all signed in the plate. This version with the London imprint appears to be quite scarce and the plates may well vary from the other imprints.
Attractive antiquarian full grained leather binding, raised & gilt bands, gilt title lettering & compartment decorations, embossed & gilt cover designs, all edges & turn ins gilt, marbled end papers.
Volume 3 of a larger set. This volume complete unto itself, offered alone as acquired due to the wonderful binding and profusion of engraved plates.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time.
Binding gently age worn but still appealing, leather and joints slightly rubbed with small scuff spots but still supple, remains overall very attractive as an object.
Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
Please review photos for more detailed attempt to present this book as it survives.
We often over-describe any flaws that many sellers would not even bother to mention since most people would overlook them as minor and unworthy of comment. Many people tell us the books they receive from us are nicer in person than they appears on the screen. We want you to be clear about what you are buying, so we take numerous photos and try to describe it openly and honestly.
