Includes a very scarce 18th century large folding map (engraved by Abel) of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding coastline to illustrate the battle between Napoleon and Nelson. Inset at lower left shows the naval forces of England and France off the coast of Alexandria Egypt in Aug. 1798.

Weekly periodical, includes issues from October, November, & December 1798. The map is inserted (as issued by publisher) with text relating to it in the issue 15 Dec. 1798

Attractive antiquarian 1/2 leather binding, smooth spine, gilt bands, gilt title lettering on contrasting leather label, marbled covers.

Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. 

Binding gently age worn but still appealing, leather and joints slightly rubbed but still supple, remains overall very attractive as an object.

Text block paper is gently age toned as typical, internally book remains mostly clean, tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but may/ does not look like new.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
