(Old Books, 19th Century Books, Americana, New England, Travel, Tourism, Books with Maps).
Guide Book for the Eastern Coast of New England.
Published 1871, Concord, New Hampshire by Edson C. Eastman & Company.
220 pages. Text in English. Folding maps at front and rear. Period advertising.
Large lithographed printed on bond paper by the Coltons (detached), folding map of Cape Cod Railroad by Winslow at rear (fold line neatly repaired on back long ago with paper).
Publisher's cloth binding, gilt title lettering, embossed ruled covers.
Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Book is not new or in "new" condition, lightly ex-libris.
Binding rubbed and gently age worn, joints slightly scuffed, hinges cracked, spine ends and tips worn down, remains overall attractive and sound as an object.
Text block paper is age toned, title page partially detached with perforated library stamp and edge chipped, internally still well preserved, tight, square, sound.
Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
