Folding maps at rear as issued (appear unopened although paper is somewhat brittle and could split along fold lines if not handled with care).

Contents include: "The Dragon Lake of Pamir" by Henry C. Rawlinson; "Explorations in South Eastern New Guinea" by J. Chalmers; "The Physical Geography of Japan, with Remarks on the People" by Edmund Naumann; "Captain Maitland's and Captain Talbot's Journeys in Afghanistan"; "A Journey in the Provinces of San Paulo, Brazil in July-September 1885" by R.F. Holms.

Maps include: "South-Eastern Part of New Guinea", "Physical Map of Japan".

Scarce late 19th century geographical periodical removed from bound volume (evidence visible along spine). 

Original paper cover, lacking rear wrapper. Binding remains clean, tight, and sound. Interior clean, some pages loosened from old dried glue binding, light signs of use.

The periodical remains well preserved given the fragile nature. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
