516 pages. Text in English. Illustrated throughout with both full page engraved views and over 100 smaller in text wood engraved views. Contains a folding, engraved map of New England with original hand color. Also, two steel engraved views with original hand color prior to title page.
Period 1/4 leather binding, embossed cover designs, gilt stamped title (now rubbed). Front joint cracked at head and tail, covers well worn with edge fraying to cloth, spine rebacked long ago in plain leather.
Text block remains tight and sound, scattered age spotting, lower corner of pg. 315 torn with some loss. Interior contents display a pleasing age patina.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
