A very scarce American imprint, very few New Testaments or Bibles bear this small local publisher imprint.
Extensive pencil notations (appear to be poems) from early owner on rear blank fly leaves.
Early Owner's Inscription: Mary A. Dodge Hamilton, a famous American female essayist who wrote for several major publications, including the Atlantic Monthly.
Binding slightly shaken, with several leaves protruding.
Text block shows light to moderate age spotting throughout, overall a unique age patina.
Book remains well preserved and attractive on the shelf, leather supple, binding sound and sturdy. It displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, the age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
