Item is physically old and shows heavy signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.

Some of the signatures are loose, the stitching is coming undone, spine paper mostly chipped away, staining, cover edge nicks, etc.

Text block paper is gently toned but mostly clean, frontis is damp stained, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Interesting and scarce illustrated 19th century classic book. Please review images and description for details. 

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
